"Our" Redtail Hawk is a big help with gopher control
Ocean View Farms Community Garden is a private nonprofit corporation (501c3) operating a six-acre organic garden under an agreement with the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.
In 2016, Ocean View Farms celebrated 40 years of service to our community. We hope that current OVF members, future OVF members, or anyone who stumbles upon this little corner of paradise will quickly find what you're looking for.
For potential OVF gardeners there's an easy-to-complete downloadable application for a garden plot, as well as information about the fascinating history of OVF, one of the largest community garden in Los Angeles and what you're getting yourself into at OVF.
Take an inside peek at who and what keeps our paradise ticking on our sunny six acre hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean. See our community work crews hard at work shredding, composting, pruning and hauling.
You'll also discover many useful gardening tips appropriate for a temperate climate like ours in Mar Vista, Southern California (Zone 10).
In addition, the all-important Rules And Regulations and By Laws are readily available with a click for both new and current members to review.
Current OVF members are encouraged to check back often to keep track of the community service they have earned, ensure their contact information is correct and learn about exciting, future gardening activities, special educational seminars, lectures and more.
Enjoy your visit!
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or ideas you may have about OVF or community gardening in general.
